Hello, I am married and a mother of two daughters, 26 and 31. My 26 year old works as an Events Specialist for TikTok in LA. ; my 31 year old is a Social Worker living in Oregon. I have a full time job working for a nonprofit, Monday-Friday from 8am - 5pm. I have free time in the week day evenings and some mornings on the weekend. I love being around kids and enjoy babysitting for family and friends. If I have any free time I enjoy reading & walking, and volunteering. I have my daughter’s dog Athena who is a sweet pup and we spend a lot of time on walks and playtime.

I worked for a school district for 6 years and have my college credits on child development. I have also worked with special needs so I have plenty of patience. I have worked with mainly 3 families in the last 10 years that I've lived in San Jose. I have cared for most of them since infancy till they were ready for school. I love kids don't have any of my own and my husband works for Standford University. I hope to be able to have fun teaching and helping your little one :)

Hi families, I’m Shyann! I’m a graduate from UC Davis with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, and having now completed my studies, am ready to wade into this next chapter of my life. My academic journey deepened my understanding of how children learn and develop, something I find incredibly rewarding to be a part of. I’m grateful to have gotten the opportunity to apply my knowledge and extend my experience with some great families. I come from a large immigrant family with my grandparents alone having over 5 children (my mom’s siblings), so you can just imagine the number of children born each generation since! Me being “older” meant I was the go-to babysitter for my sibling, cousins, nephews, etc., which made transitioning to paid childcare a natural step once I could legally work. Now with over six years of professional experience under my belt, I can say that I’ve had the pleasure of creating strong bonds with a number of wonderful and diverse families. I have wide-ranging experience caring for children ages 0-12 and am CPR & First Aid certified. I am also up to date on my flu and COVID vaccinations and take precautions in public. I have experience caring for children with special needs regarding the autism spectrum, ADHD, and other (physical) developmental delays. Still, I will always be eager, and motivated, to learn to care for the special needs of any children I do not have experience.
