I am a semi-retired licensed Registered Nurse with five grown children and four grandchildren. I have worked as a nanny full time, part time, and night nurse. I have done occasional work for families for nights out, special events, and sick children who cannot attend regular childcare. I have also covered babysitting services for a conference in the past. My experience includes all ages, multiple children, diabetics, and neurodivergent children. I’ve been babysitting since I was a teenager. I love children and animals and I spend my childcare time reading, playing, dancing, exercising, walking, and doing crafts. Our days are very busy and interactive. I try to make basic daily tasks fun to keep the children engaged and willing to do things like hand washing and clean up. I am patient, kind, and loving. I have my own vehicle and a clean driving record if transportation should be necessary. Pets are not a problem. I will happily feed, water, walk, brush, play with and/or check-in on your animals. I am fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID (and a bunch of other stuff). I am clean and keep hand sanitizer with me. I am also certified in Basic, Advanced, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. I am open to light housekeeping duties, and I don't mind meal prep or cooking. Most people enjoy my cooking and I am health conscious and creative, but certainly respect that some children may have limited food preferences and/or allergies and I am willing to work within those limitations. I strive to provide a positive experience that is fun, safe, and comfortable, and allows you to feel secure in your choice, knowing your precious child or children are in good hands.

My life's work has always been working with children. I have worked as a preschool teacher (both for infants and toddlers), elementary school teacher, nanny, tutor, and mentor. Additionally, I've volunteered in many capacities involving children, including working with children in foster care and in precarious living situations requiring compassionate outreach. My experience includes working with differently abled children, both physically and/or mentally. I have extensive experience with autism, ADHD, and generalized learning/communication diagnoses that require special attentiveness and flexibility to every child's needs. This experience has given me many strategies for supporting children's socio-emotional and/or academic learning. My passion in working with children lies in my innate belief that children crave age-appropriate autonomy, consistency with boundaries and communication, and adults who are responsive and able to flexibly adapt to children's needs. I love to play! I lead with humor and curiosity, which helps children feel safe and seen from the start. I love to sing, play guitar, write, draw, and create/participate in sensory-seeking experiences. I find true joy in watching children develop their confidence and sense of self, and consider it a privilege to facilitate these life skills by building relational trust with children and their families. Additionally, most of my experience that has taken place outside of non-academic settings has entailed house-cleaning, shopping and cooking, transportation, pet care (mostly dogs and cats), and house/pet-sitting when needed. When I work in a family's home, my goal is to integrate care for the space and each family's overall needs with caregiving itself. I find these are intertwined more often than not! I enjoy helping in any way I can.

Elizabeth was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and our toddler loved having her around. Will definitely hire her again.

Hi I’m Andrea! I am 27 and currently live in the Portland area. I have been baby sitting for the past several years and really enjoy the time I get to spend with kids! I have worked with the tutoring agency Kumon when I was a student at PSU and tutored kids from ages 2-10. I am also very comfortable with animals and have grown up with pets since I was a little girl and love to spend time in the sun outside!

Andrea was so lovely, and my son had a great time with her!

Hi! I have experience with nannying/babysitting/caregiving for 30 years. In my younger days I babysat and was a summer nanny for children ages 1-8 years old. That included morning and evening day/bedtime routines, packing meals, engaging in activities with children, coaching them with age appropriate skills (tying shoes, playing games, swimming, etc.). As I got older I continued to offer childcare on the side while working other jobs and going to school for a Bachelors degree in Sociology. Fast forward to when I moved to Portland in 2008, I began watching babies (starting at 6mos to a year) through a nanny share with multiple families. I really enjoyed the opportunity to watch children grow from such a young age and be able to guide them into learning life skills. I did this temporarily until going back to hospitality and restaurant management for 12 years. Fast forward to now, and I am currently a Site Director for an afterschool program for grades K-5 and I absolutely love it! I would like to continue working with kids in between my primary job, and look forward to meeting families that are interested in my experience! *infant/child/adult CPR and First Aid certified
