"Amina came and helped us out when our babysitter canceled last minute. She was great with our kids. Even our 11 month old son who has stranger anxiety warmed up to her."

Hello! I'm Bec and I am a graduate of Northwestern University. I grew up in Seattle and returned to the PNW to get my MFA in creative writing; I now teach college English classes. I spent my years at Northwestern teaching drama classes in the Chicagoland area and working with Seesaw Theatre, an arts advocacy group that creates one-on-one sensory immersive theatre for kids with autism and other developmental disabilities (I then worked with a similar group in NYC for three years). I nannied for a crew of elementary schoolers, and eventually a toddler sibling as well, for four years. Between teaching drama classes, babysitting, nannying, teaching swim lessons, and working at a childcare center in high school, I have worked with kiddos from three months old to eighteen years old! In my free time I write, read, and make theatre.
I have been working in the field of Occupational Therapy for 33 years, 17 of them in the schools with children with special needs. I have raised three children of my own and have 5 delightful Grandchildren. I like to plan fun age and developmentally appropriate activities to assist in developing self-esteem, creativity, self-expression, curiosity, character and compassion. I enjoy seeing and assisting children thrive in a safe and nurturing environment. My Grandchildren know that "Nana's" most important job is keeping them safe. I encourage children to problem solve and to communicate openly. Communication is key in all my relationships no matter the age. I was a life guard as a young adult, a Girl Scout leader and volunteered for outdoor adventure companies that work with the physically challenged population. I even taught adaptive PE for a term. I co-owned an organic farm CSA for 10 joyous years. We also made herbal products and sold them at the Farmer's Market. I am an animal lover as well so be assured that your pets will also receive attention. Some call me the dog or the cat-whisperer... (Side note: I am a petsitter as well). I don't watch much TV as there are too many other choices as my interests are numerous from backpacking, kayaking, traveling especially in the developing world, volunteering, spending time with animals, my family and friends and of course my Grandchildren, reading, music, the performing arts, skiing, crocheting, yoga, crafts, gardening and trying to make this world a little more kind, more fun, lighter... Life is to be celebrated as it is a gift to share and enjoy with others and possibly to make their life a bit easier along the way.
“Susan was on time, respectful of both of my kids’ separate needs and came with activities and ideas to engage them. She drove my kids to OT appts daily and kept me updated about the information that was shared.”
I am a UCLA graduate with a degree in sociology and lots of experience in early childhood learning. I have been doing babysitting and childcare for about 6 years now for family and friends. I have always been good with children. I am the oldest child and the oldest of most of my cousins so I have grown up watching kids. I have been housesitting for over a year now for many pet owners that go on vacation for any amount of time from 3 days to a week. I have been helping out seniors in my family for a while as well since 3/4 of my great grandmothers are still alive and are in need of assistance when it comes to daily tasks. I have grown up around big dogs and other animals so I am pretty experienced with walking dogs and caring for them.

“I was in town for a conference staying at a hotel, so I Booked Carol for the day. She responded to my request fast. She arrived on time and stayed with my son for 10 hours. My son enjoyed her company. She was also kind enough to give me a discount for the sitting fee of the whole day. It was a right choice to pick her for me.”
Hi I’m Andrea! I am 27 and currently live in the Portland area. I have been baby sitting for the past several years and really enjoy the time I get to spend with kids! I have worked with the tutoring agency Kumon when I was a student at PSU and tutored kids from ages 2-10. I am also very comfortable with animals and have grown up with pets since I was a little girl and love to spend time in the sun outside!
“Andrea was sweet and kind to my 4 kids. She played with them, and they had a fun day! We recommend her!”
