Hi - My name is Christina, I’m 30 years old and I'm currently in school to get a degree in Public Health. Once I complete my degree, I would love to have the title, “child and maternal health advocate”! I started working in child care 10 years ago as a lead teacher in a toddler classroom at a daycare. After a few years there, I moved on to becoming a nanny. I’ve been a nanny to two amazing families since 2016. Im thankful to have held long term positions. While my work week is filled with my current position, I do enjoy babysitting on the side. Im open to one time and occasional babysitting depending on the families needs. I love being a babysitter and have been watching newborns, infants, toddlers, and kids (including twins!) since was 18 years old. I currently only provide back up care and date nights. My objective is to offer families the best and complete care for their children with love, nourishment, and guidance and to make sure the health, well-being, education, and safety of the children are never jeopardized. I undertake all tasks related to the care of the entire household. I support children by providing physical, social, emotional, creative, and intellectual play to ensure proper development. I always maintain good, open communication with parents and usually come with a nanny bag with books, coloring sheets, and a puzzle that is age-appropriate. Hey everyone! I’m a mom who genuinely loves helping families however I can. I’m also a certified pediatric sleep consultant — so if your little one is struggling with sleep, feel free to ask! I also run a local Facebook group (Seattle Play Dates for ALL) that brings together parents and kids of all ages for connection and community. I’m a mom to a 4-year-old daughter who adores playing with other kiddos, and a 6-year-old autistic son who thrives with parallel play. Unless specifically requested, my little ones stay home with dad when I’m caring for your children. 😉 I’ve been babysitting or helping raise kids since I was 11 years old — having 60+ cousins meant there was always a little one who needed care! Supporting special needs toddlers is a huge soft spot of mine, and I absolutely love infants — I miss those newborn snuggles! My caregiving style is play-based, low-demand, and child-led. I believe parents know their children best, and I always respect and accommodate your parenting style and preferences (as long as they align with my own moral and safety standards). I’m a great cook, a fun companion, and I come with a full range of animated voices for bedtime stories. And no infant’s bedtime routine is complete without my famous “bébé massage” to help them drift off to sleep! I have worked in school districts for 10 years plus. Most of it was with special education, children. For the last five years, I’ve taken care of my very sick husband.. He goes to Dialysis three times a week of which I have already put into the hours I can work and he also has short-term memory loss. I have a great deal of patience and empathy for those that are younger and those that may have minor mental and emotional problems. I take very seriously what it is that I do. I do not consider these individuals as lesser people. I especially love children. I have 10 grandchildren, and I taught all of them how to swim. I was a major part in their lives and as a result of my support as has been told to me by my children, my grandchildren are stable and productive individuals in the society. But I mostly love and enjoy little one’s handicapped or not.
