Booked by 8 families in Albany, CA

My name is Raine, I'm 20, and I'm based in Emeryville/Oakland! I'm a high school graduate as of 2024, and am in a course to become a Paraprofessional while working as a babysitter/nanny. I do not drive or have access to a car, but I can travel quite proficiently by foot, bike, and public transportation. Please let me know if your home is not accessible by public transit! I am available Monday-Friday, and occasional weekends. Please message me before booking to make sure we are a good fit! Some more about me: I previously have 4-5 years of experience working with kids at a Scandinavian Language School, in which I worked with kids from 2 years old to 11 years old. I additionally have experience and training with working with neurodivergent/autistic kids, and I'm more than happy to work with families who may have more complex needs. I also have many years of experience in babysitting, as well as pet-sitting and house-sitting! I am born and raised in the Bay Area, and I've been living in Oakland since the start of 2025. I'm a very creative person and love making art, and enjoy very hands-on activities. I'm both the oldest sibling and one of the oldest cousins in a relatively big family, and have found that I'm very good with kids. I genuinely enjoy working with and spending time with kids a lot, and I feel it’s a very rewarding and fun job! Thank you for considering me :)

Raine was wonderful! She was available to help last-minute, and my daughter connected with her very quickly and easily. She helped make her food , engaged her throughout the booking, and was professional and prompt with communication with me. Will definitely hire her and recommend her wholeheartedly. Thank you!

$13 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 4 families in Albany, CA

I just moved to New York for a couple of months. During this time I would love to babysit. I have experience working as a camp counselor where I was responsible for groups of 10 children aged 3 to 5. I learned how to care for all ages and all profiles. I also have experience with babies, I have cared over the past few months for a baby (from when they were a 6 month old to now a 1 year old), caring for them during the day and completing their night time routine. Tasks I did: help with lunch, assure safety at all times, respect a tight schedule, be alert and observant of all children always, motivate children to do what they have to get done (eg. Drinking water, brushing teeth), play games and engage conversations, keep parents informed of any problems asap, … I have also done overnight babysitting for a regular family (multiple days/ nights without parents) and gotten children ready for bed & school in the morning. I am one of four siblings and have two younger brothers. Both of which I have spent a lot of time with and caring for, from diaper cleaning to helping with homework. Outside of my family, I have taken care of multiple children in New York, Paris, London and San Francisco. A non-exhaustive list of tasks I have done: walking with children from school to home, helping with homework, playing board games, waking up and getting ready for school, morning and evening hygiene tasks, putting children to bed, reading with them, outside walks to the park, planning cultural outings. In addition, I can do house cleaning tasks, prepare basic and healthy meals, and take care of cats. I am a french native and I can help with oral practice and homework. I have experience with family seniors that are physically impaired with general help and hygiene. Overall, I believe that every child is unique, special and has particular needs. I am respectful and responsible and will prioritise any tasks assigned. I have always been around young children and I love seeing them evolve.

$25 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 20 families in Albany, CA

My name is Lynda, I am 24 years old, and I have been working as a preschool teacher for the past 2 years. I am passionate about working with children and supporting their development in a safe and nurturing environment. I also studied midwifery, where I completed several internships that gave me hands-on experience with newborns and young children. This background has helped me build strong skills in childcare from an early age. I have cared for children in over 40 families, including 9 regular families that I worked with consistently. I also provided long-term care for one child for 1. 5 years, 4 days a week, building a strong and trusting relationship with both the child and the family. I am patient, caring, and responsible. I always make sure children feel safe, happy, and engaged by offering age-appropriate activities that support their creativity and independence. I would love the opportunity to care for your children and support your family's daily needs

Lynda was lovely, very professional and got our toddler to sleep without any issue!

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
