Ciena Santa Barbara
$30 per hour for 1 child

I graduated from Westmont college in 2025 with a degree in psychology and theater. I have years of experience working with kids, including teaching middle school, one on one ABA therapy for children on the autism spectrum, and extensive childcare experience. My specialty is creativity and play. My background in psychology helps me understand emotional regulation, sensory needs, and individualized support strategies. I learned in my time in ABA that structure and rigidity has a place, but I prefer to have more of a genuine relationship with my kiddos. I like to play and get on their level, but know how to maintain respect as well. I’m trained in positive reinforcement and have experience navigating meltdowns and transitions calmly and supportively. I have developed and worked on theater festivals and productions with kids and love using theater, art, and storytelling as tools for connection, emotional expression, and learning through play. You can find me usually spending a lot of time training and entertaining my 2 year old Aussie-doodle with daily walks, hikes, and trips to the dog park!

Rassa 2 reviews
Montecito
$25 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 4 families in Carpinteria, CA

I love working with children of all age groups, I do adore working with infants. My mother had a private pre-school so it was a formative part of my upbringing that has stayed with me. I enjoy watching and being part of their first time experiences while observing infants, toddlers, elementary, middle school, etc. stages develop. I have over 10 years of experience and I believe my intuition as well as my sensitivity fosters positive, solid growth and well being. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Rassa was so wonderful with our kids. She had such a sweet and calming energy. She was very communicative leading up to the day. We will definitely hire her again.

Ventura
$30 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 88 families in Carpinteria, CA

Background: I have taught in preschool settings all around the LA area for about 9 years now with primarily the 2-5 age range. My background is in child development which I’ve studied in college. I got into the field when I interned at a local family resource center where I organized lesson plans and play groups for infants and toddlers. I consider myself a lifelong learner and study the Reggio Emilia approach and RIE philosophy with a passion as it tends to inspire my provocations. I was a full time teacher at a child development center in Ventura, California - that focused on nature-based learning, also known as the outdoor classroom approach. I stepped away from this career path in early June 2026 but still looking to work in childcare in a home-based setting. I also have some previous full/part time nannying experience (with infants/toddlers). About Me: I enjoy going to coffee shops, hitting the gym, lap swimming, walking my dog, baking and traveling to tropical places! I speak fluent English and Spanish Fine Print: •4 hour minimum per booking •Short Notice Cancellation Fee: 50% of booking total if cancelled within 24hrs of start time. •If anyone in your household has been sick within 72 hours of booking, please cancel said booking. I do not consent to working with sick children. I work with multiple families, including infants, and I want to ensure the health and well-being of everyone involved. I will also be transparent about my own health status. •All hours booked are considered “guaranteed hours” in terms of pay, even if I am relieved early or for any other reason. •Cash, Zelle and Venmo preferred! 😊

WHAT A RARE FIND!!!! We hired Andrea for our stay at the Ojai Valley Inn - which she was totally familar with / comfortable with the property - to watch our 10 month old. It was the first time I've left my daughter with someone other than her nanny, so I was a little nervous, but Andrea's calm and loving presence, matched with her clear expertise, immediately put me at ease. I serve on my son's preschool board, and would honestly put Andrea up for a job there in a heartbeat.

Hello, My name is Silvia. I’m 30 years old and recently moved back to Santa Barbara after completing my graduate program in Elementary Education at San Francisco State University. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development with a minor in Psychology, and I’m truly passionate about working with children. I am CPR and First Aid certified, and I have several years of hands-on experience caring for children of various ages. I’ve worked in daycare settings during the summers and have extensive experience babysitting, which has helped me develop patience, creativity, and strong communication skills. In my free time, I enjoy drawing, painting, playing soccer, reading, and playing the guitar—activities I love to share with kids to keep them engaged, creative, and active. I would love the opportunity to support your family and provide a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for your children!

Silvia was wonderful with our 2 year old daughter! She was punctual, professional, and our daughter really enjoyed playing with her. She was even able to get our nap-refusing toddler successfully down for a nap. Will definitely be hiring her again!

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
