Hello, My name is Silvia. I’m 30 years old and recently moved back to Santa Barbara after completing my graduate program in Elementary Education at San Francisco State University. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development with a minor in Psychology, and I’m truly passionate about working with children. I am CPR and First Aid certified, and I have several years of hands-on experience caring for children of various ages. I’ve worked in daycare settings during the summers and have extensive experience babysitting, which has helped me develop patience, creativity, and strong communication skills. In my free time, I enjoy drawing, painting, playing soccer, reading, and playing the guitar—activities I love to share with kids to keep them engaged, creative, and active. I’m a happy, fun-loving, detail oriented mom of 3 teenagers. I own a children’s resale boutique in town and one of the things I like best about it is interacting with the kids and their families! I work in my shop only part time and now that my kids are older I’ve found I have extra time and love to give to families who need a little extra help or a date night or just a break! I love animals and so pets in the home are a bonus for me. I’m also very happy to help with meal prep or tidying up if I’m at your home. I love the park and the beach and am always willing to take kids for walks or on outings or even help with homework. I love board games and drawing or coloring and playing dolls or building legos or any imagination games kids enjoy. I’m fit so I can keep up with them on bikes or scooters or racing around outside! I truly enjoy being silly with kids of all ages and enjoy having fun and engaging with them at their level. Newborns to teens… I love all the stages. I was a full time nanny before and during my tenure at UCSB and started babysitting as soon as I could as a young girl. I think it’s because I have a lot of love to give and my family of origin is very small so I have enjoyed being part of the families that I work with. After UCSB I worked in both educational and residential facilities with severely emotionally disturbed teenagers and learned so much about behavior management and caring for children who need extra support. That was truly an educational experience for me and has positively impacted my relationships with children and as a parent myself. What else? I’m punctual, thoughtful, I have a strong work ethic and I do what I commit to doing. I have a positive outlook on life and that shows in all I do! I have been babysitting since I was 12 years old. For infants and young children. I have two kid of my own. 10 and 9 years old. I watch my friends kids all the time and I watch my nephew. I was a nanny for a few summers in high school. I work for an Elementary School as a special education aid. I work with young children with disabilities and I absolutely love it. It’s a passion of mine. My son has autism and I’m trained in different behavior therapy such as ABA. I am responsible, fun, loving and extremely sensitive and Caring. Safety comes first. Kids are my passion and I connect with them so well. I enjoy working with kids so much. :) I am a single mom that wants to work hard and provide for my kids. I love being a mom so much!

I graduated from Westmont college in 2025 with a degree in psychology and theater. I have years of experience working with kids, including teaching middle school, one on one ABA therapy for children on the autism spectrum, and extensive childcare experience. My specialty is creativity and play. My background in psychology helps me understand emotional regulation, sensory needs, and individualized support strategies. I learned in my time in ABA that structure and rigidity has a place, but I prefer to have more of a genuine relationship with my kiddos. I like to play and get on their level, but know how to maintain respect as well. I’m trained in positive reinforcement and have experience navigating meltdowns and transitions calmly and supportively. I have developed and worked on theater festivals and productions with kids and love using theater, art, and storytelling as tools for connection, emotional expression, and learning through play. You can find me usually spending a lot of time training and entertaining my 2 year old Aussie-doodle with daily walks, hikes, and trips to the dog park!

I love working with children of all age groups, I do adore working with infants. My mother had a private pre-school so it was a formative part of my upbringing that has stayed with me. I enjoy watching and being part of their first time experiences while observing infants, toddlers, elementary, middle school, etc. stages develop.
