Hello! I’m seeking date-night, weekend and part-time sitting. Flexible schedule during school breaks and holidays! I coach preschool/ recreational gymnastics and support our camp program in Emeryville. I’m one of 7 kids and have 6 nieces & nephews! I completed my Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology with a K-12 School Counselor credential from USF. I’ve been an educator for over 20 yrs working as a teacher, school counselor, coach, tutor and nanny. My childcare experience started at age 12 as sitter in my neighborhood and watching my younger siblings. I provided part-time and full-time nannying, evening sitting, emergency/ back-up care and on-going sitting in the Bay Area, (Boston, MA), (Austin, TX), and my home state of Michigan. During graduate school, I interned at a middle school and a high school. I was a high school counselor for 5 years and a middle school counselor this past year. My internships and counseling roles provide me with training in social-emotional development, academic support, crisis intervention, counseling therapies, individual and group therapy, peer mediation and positive reinforcement. I have over 20 years of experience caring for all ages of children including over 10 years working exclusively with twin infants and toddlers. As a full-time nanny and family assistant I also helped with light housekeeping, driving children to school/activities, pet care, and preparing meals. Hello families! I love working with children and am looking for babysitting opportunities with kids of any age! I enjoy spending time with kids doing crafts, reading stories at bedtime, and keeping them happy and safe. Some of my hobbies include photography, singing, knitting, and yoga. I am a graduate of San Francisco State University, where I studied psychology with an emphasis on child development. I have been babysitting since high school and have worked with many local families with kids ages 0-13. I was a tutor for a year at an after school program where I facilitated activities and helped the children with their homework. After graduating college I worked for a year and a half at a group home for kids (ages 6 to 18) who struggled with regulating themselves during stress. One summer I also worked at a pre-school prep where I interacted with kids ages 8 months to 3 years doing activities such as reading, singing, crafts, art and other activities. And then most recently I taught mindfulness for two years at Oakland Public Schools and have been substitute teaching for the past year. I was very active for many years on Urbansitter back when it first started from about 2012 to 2017 and then I took a long break from it to focus on other career goals. Now I’ve decided to make a return to it since I’m on summer break and am hoping to continue with it into the next school year as I plan to be part time with my regular job.
