Hi! My name is Jenn and my life's passion and talent is working with children! First, a bit about my experience with kids: I'm a seasoned parent to 22 and 16 year olds who are turning into caring, conscientious and responsible adults who are excellent students with incredible work ethic. I'm proud of raising these two as a single parent! I currently work as a middle school teacher. Prior to that, I ran my own childcare business in my home for toddlers. It was pure joy to work with my little learners and the whole family to create a happy, warm, safe, nurturing environment for them to grow, learn and play! I hold a CA teaching credential and I have taught elementary and middle school grades full time and have subbed K-12. I have the gift of natural attunement to children and connect with them easily and joyfully. I also have the rare ability to work effectively with babies through high school students. I am highly intuitive about children's feelings and needs and I respond sensitively and appropriately. Children simply bring out the best in me! I have an upbeat personality, a playful sense of humor, and children trust me and connect with me easily and with joy. I love discovering/encouraging what interests children have and designing activities or finding books that match their interests. I particularly love helping children connect with nature, both in spending time outdoors and in projects using natural materials. If there is the opportunity, I like to bring these interests to my babysitting work and I also have a huge collection of children's literature and bring books with me to my sits. Further, I am highly experienced in working with children from all backgrounds, cultures and special needs, including autism. Since I've taught early elementary and middle school, I can help with homework if needed. I use a positive discipline approach with my own children and the children I work with. I'm adept at teaching social and emotional skills and I love helping children learn how to communicate and to understand and express their feelings to others including working out conflict as necessary. About myself, I have an abundance of things I love to do, which include healthy cooking, knitting, making jewelry, photography, book club, reading, writing, my pets, and Bay Area fun with my kids! I look forward to working with your family!

Jenn was timely, kind, and competent - we would happily work with her again!

With over a decade of dedicated experience in childcare, I bring warmth, reliability, and a deep understanding of children’s needs to each family I work with. I’ve provided one-on-one care as well as support for multiples, including serving as a full-time nanny for three siblings—a newborn, a 2.5-year-old, and a 5-year-old—in New York before returning to the Bay Area. My background also includes roles as an au pair, tutor, teacher, and camp counselor, giving me a well-rounded foundation for connecting with kids of all ages. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Occidental College, which enriches my understanding of developmental and cultural dynamics in childcare. Many families I’ve worked with through this site have left glowing reviews, a testament to my commitment to creating a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for children. Please feel free to book any open time on my calendar, as I keep it updated regularly. For any questions, don’t hesitate to send me a message—I look forward to meeting you and your family! Booking Policies: --4-hour minimum booking --Not available for jobs that require driving kids --I’m not available for phone interviews but happy to schedule an in-person working interview if you want to meet before booking for a longer gig.

My experience includes babysitting for parents i've met through jobs i've had in the past, friends & through this app. I've babysat throughout the summers & done after school care as well. I've also been working as a paraprofessional at a school here in Oakland for the past 2 years. I enjoy working with children and find it an extremely rewarding experience. I always make sure to take great care and exercise all precautionary measures to ensure the safety of the children. I feel that I have all of the necessary qualities that make a good babysitter. I am very respectful and will adhere to your house rules and also remind your child(ren) of the rules if needed.

Ezmeralda did a fantastic job with the twins and keeping them entertained. She was very patient and engaging, and the kids loved her. Thanks!

Hello Parents, I have 18 years experience with childcare. In addition I used to be a pre-school teacher for 2 years. I am also a homeschool educator part time. I love kids and believe that they deserve the best care that they can get. I finished my graduate studies and back on childcare for parents on this app. I miss using this app and providing childcare. I was focused more on teaching the past few years. I believe that I am kind, reliable, communicative, adventures, energetic and transparent. Thank you!

Amaal has been wonderful with our baby. She jumped right into our routine and has been easy to work with. She communicates well about the plan for the day and it feels like we're all on a team together. Our 7- month-old is usually slow to warm up to new people but from day 1 he was happy and taking a bottle from her. We're happy we found her!

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
