Vanessa 1 review
San Francisco
$35 per hour for 1 child

My name is Vanessa. I have 14 years of experience caring and creating safe, nurturing environments for children. I CPR trained ,clean driving license ,fully vaccinated, excellent references and also fluent in both English and Spanish. I communicate with parents about their child's day and any issues through verbal communication at exchange at the end of the day. regular updates via text or phone call, or by following the parents' preferred method. I am comfortable enforcing household rules by following the parents' lead. I am willing to try my best to be helpful to your family and caring for your kids,I here to help as much as I can with all my patience and love

Vanessa started working with our family when our first child was 7 months old and continued on with us for over 3 years until we moved out of state. Our children’s health and safety was always her top priority. I appreciated that she would let us know about small scratches or falls even before our kids were verbal. This kind of attention to detail, transparency, and integrity are all integral parts of Vanessa’s character. She would send us pictures and videos of outings and, at our request, would update us about timing of leaving the house and where they were going every time they went out. She was always respectful of our wishes, especially our parenting choices regarding things we are intentional about exposing (or not exposing) our children to, and was thoughtful to ask permission before engaging in something new. Vanessa is warm, patient, and kind. Our daughter has always been slow to warm with new people but Vanessa quickly developed a very special relationship with her. I believe Vanessa’s gentle, caring presence is one of the things that helped my daughter through the rollercoaster of her sleep challenges over the years; Vanessa was consistently able to help our daughter nap better than we could during the day. During naps, Vanessa would organize and clean play areas and wash and fold our children’s laundry. While I was still breastfeeding, she would wash and sterilize bottles and pump parts which really helped lighten the burden of the process for me while I worked from home and pumped multiple times throughout the day. Vanessa’s approach to discipline was to first and foremost follow any instructions we provided, but as first time parents we were appreciative to learn from her experience. She maintains firm boundaries in a calm and loving way and ensures children feel seen, heard, and understood as they learn about themselves and the world around them. Vanessa has been consistently excellent with our now preschooler, but it takes a special kind of person with expertise to care for babies and Vanessa has it. She strikes the ideal balance between professional and loving. She’s playful and engaging and maintained a structured schedule of activities, meals, snacks, and naps. Vanessa seems to genuinely enjoy working with children, and it was heartwarming to hear my kids laughing and playing with her around the house. Vanessa takes special care to ensure her job is done well and responds well to feedback. She is a joy to work with!

Ryan 1 review
San Francisco
$36 per hour for 1 child

Hello! My name is Ryan and I am a senior at Duke University graduating this May. I will be back in San Francisco for the summer and would love to help out with babysitting and childcare! I have been looking after children since I was 10 as the oldest of three siblings. In recent years I have worked primarily with children ages 5–7, though I am comfortable caring for kids of all ages. My experience includes camp pickup and drop-off, daytime childcare, pool and outdoor activity supervision, date night babysitting, and helping with light household tasks. I also enjoy helping with homework, summer reading, and other academic support when helpful. As a Duke student with tutoring experience, I am eager to help kids stay engaged with learning over the summer. I love planning fun and engaging activities for kids—whether that’s arts and crafts, baking, reading together, or outdoor adventures. My personal interests include the performing arts (a cappella, dance, acting, and filmmaking), being outdoors, cooking and baking, and reading (I am a huge Harry Potter fan!). I also love animals and am very happy to help with pets or house-sitting. I would be delighted to spend time with your kids and help make your summer a little easier!

Ryan has babysat for us several times. She is fantastic with my daughters(now 9 and 7) and has babysat them at younger ages as well over the years. Ryan is responsible, reliable, engaging, and fun. She will play with your kids and be present with them. They will love her!

I take on a positive and nurturing approach to childcare. Instead of emphasizing the negative side or outcome of an unwanted behavior, I focus on redirecting each child towards healthy alternative activities, tasks, or desirable behaviors. By refraining from saying, "No", I strive to put more attention on a desired behavior. I am very patient and I absolutely love learning. With that I would say that patience plays a major role when both learning and caring for children. I absolutely aspire for children to feel safe, heard, and loved in result making myself available to all their emotional, physical and mental needs to the best of my expertise. I aim for the child to maintain their ability to think in a clear manner and create good decisions. As for regulating children's emotions, I guide them to slow down and respond to situations in a calm manner. Providing care for children since 2013 has been my specialty and it comes second nature to me. I look forward to meeting you!

Hello! I was born and raised in Austria and came to the US as an Au-pair 20 years ago, so I also speak fluent German. It's simple really, I love children and they love me. As an Aries I am an eternal child and relate to children very easily. I enjoy reading with them, doing arts and crafts, building forts and being outside. I also like to include them into chores in a playful way to keep them humble and make them feel accomplished. Communication is the biggest key for me and I love listening to my lil client's stories all day! In a nutshell I am fun, responsible, reliable and have a lot of energy. My philosophy is that your child is as much of a client as you are, I customize my care to the needs of the client. Please note I am available to work holidays but charge time and a half for those days. New Years Eve is double. Policies: I have a 4 hour minimum booking policy. CANCELLATIONS: For cancellations with less than 24 hours notice, I expect 50% of the original booking amount, which can be paid via PayPal or Venmo. EARLY RETURNS: Because I plan my time and budget around the hours booked, I ask to be paid for the entire booking, even if you come home early. LATE RETURNS: I'm usually flexible on the end time of a booking, but please text/call me if you'll be late, especially if we have not discussed flexibility beforehand. I occasionally book jobs back to back with just enough time for travel in between, and your late return can have an unfortunate impact on my schedule. For nanny shares I charge $20 per child.

Complete rockstar! High energy for my son, interactive and engaging, so much fun!! Very professional and punctual!

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
