NOTE - at this time I am already committed to a family in the after-school time period. I do often take jobs outside of what you see on my calendar - just inquire! I'm looking for work in the childcare field because really, I like spending time with kids. When I had to think what I most like to do with young people, it is having conversations with them. I find it incredibly enjoyable, enlightening, and often, hysterical to hear what children have to say. Looking after children is something at which I felt I was always very good. It comes easily to me and I am extremely comfortable around children, from infants to teenagers. My life has really come full circle, back to children. Out of college I worked for many families for nearly 15 years as a sitter, while I eased into the graphic design field as a freelancer. After 25 yrs in that field, my role was becoming obsolete, so I naturally and easily slid back into childcare for the past many years. I am proud of the relationships I've developed with the children AND their parents - many have become close friends. I am very much a mature grown-up. Childcare is my primary work and focus. I show up. Extremely rare for me to cancel. I am single, with no children - just the mandatory cats we single women are obligated to have. I have loved living in San Francisco for 35+ years, graduating from USF and the Academy of Art University with a BFA degree. For 35+ years I have lived in the Inner Richmond in the same home. I'm passionate about traveling, baking/eating, movies, crafting. I believe you will find me to be a good listener, particularly to what you, the parents, are telling me about your child and his or her care. I am patient, easy going, but not a pushover. I firmly enforce house rules when needed. I love reading children's books and doing creative projects of all kinds. Trips to the park are high on my to-do list. I'm very Muni adept but love to walk too. I'm probably not nearly as tech-knowledgeable as an average 8 year old, but I do my best and am always mindful to respond to messages and inquiries quickly.... but I am by no means overly attached to my android. My eyes and attention are meant to be ON your child, not a screen. I am certified in CPR and AED for Adults, Children and Infants by the American Safety and Health Institute. I have been certified Best Auntie by my 5 nieces and nephew and I have the mug to prove it. One note - I do have a 2 hour minimum for bookings. Thank you!

ā€œTricia was wonderful! She was very attentive and gentle. Our LO really loved her. She was on time, responsive and I would highly recommend her.ā€

I'm have recently started teaching at a preschool in the city. I feel so fortunate to have my dream job. In the past I have been a nanny, sitter, and tutor for many families. I am currently sitting on occasion. One of my most rewarding experiences has been teaching a child how to read. I like to be an active babysitter. To me this means minimal screen time and lots of different activities with the kids, such as, storytelling, building forts, drawing, and cooking/baking lessons. Outside of babysitting, I enjoy cooking, and reading (especially Historical Fiction and Non-fiction). I also love to draw and paint. My best/ideal Sunday (pre-Covid) usually starts with yoga and the Farmer's Market, and ends with a dinner party where I cook for all my closest friends. I have babysat for children outside of family/ family friends for about eight years. My most extensive babysitting/ nannying experience lasted about two years. I was a full time nanny for a little boy, and also helped prepare his slightly older sister for school and picked her up at the end of the day. I usually made breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the children and cared for them almost full time during the summer months. There were times when I cared for the children full time/ overnight when both parents were away/ traveled for work reasons. I have also traveled with families for holidays. I require full payment in case of a cancellation after I have accepted a sitting invitation.

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
