Somjai 2 reviews
$35 per hour for 1 child

Hi, my name is Mui McCarthy. I’m an empty nester with two kids. (Kids are two years apart) I was a full time mother with experiences with preschool volunteer both in the US and overseas. I helped family and friends babysitting their children very often. My nanny experiences 1. Full time taking care of a two year old. Started from 7 am. Got him ready after breakfast, packed lunch. Off to daily activities, playground, beach, music class, arts class, museum, playdates and many activities according to his age appropriate. The family moved to New York 2. My second full time job is taking of a year and a half. In the morning I sit with him for breakfast, cleaning up and get ready for the day. Activities included taking him to playground, park, music class, gymnastics, soccer class, library and playdates. I help the family plan his activities, toys and books ideas that appropriate to his age. Also helping plan his meals as the parents are vegetarians but still want kid to have meat options. The family moved to East Bay. 3. My current family. I take care of a two-year-old. I started when he was a year old. I was full-time and now part-time as he is in daycare. My core of being a nanny is to provide a safe and healthy environment for a child. Help and coordinate with parents to develop the kids' milestones with appropriate activities. Communication and sharing the daily routine with parents is important to me. I’m a kind, calm, patient, clean, high energy and very responsive person. I have a college degree. I have a car and very safe driver. I’m don’t smoke/drugs.

Somjai is a very good friend of mine. We’ve known each other since 2016. When she was living in Dallas, I always spent time with her along with my children (6 year old son and 4 year old daughter) Somjai is a natural caregiver as she played with my kids, cooked delicious meals, and showed her generosity to my children. Moreover, Somjai is highly organized, reliable, and trustworthy. She is warm, compassionate, and caring. She picked me and my kids up from the airport after our international trip. I was very grateful for that. I highly recommend her for the position of nanny. She has the experience, skills, and personal qualities to excel in this role and provide exceptional care to the children.

Angelina 1 review
$34 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 1 family in San Francisco, CA

I really enjoy working with kids and have experience caring for children ages 1-13. I'm comfortable handling multiple kids, helping with homework, making snacks, and keeping everyone entertained. I'm patient, responsible, and good at building rapport with both kids and parents. I have a clean driving record and take safety seriously. I'm also pretty flexible and good about communicating if anything comes up. Kids tend to like hanging out with me because I keep things fun but also respect whatever rules parents have in place. I'm reliable and show up on time. A bit about me: I have a bachelor's degree from Chico State and spent 9 years working in tech. I'm now making a move to more community based work because I want to spend my time helping people directly. Happy to share my LinkedIn so you can see recommendations from past coworkers and bosses. I'm also happy to help as a family assistant with things like dishes, laundry, returning packages, errands, and admin tasks to free up your time for work and family. Happy to help with pickups, drop-offs, activities, and light household stuff. Let me know if you want to chat more about what you're looking for! I do require 50% of the scheduled rate for last-minute changes within 48 hours of service.

Angelina has been an incredible caregiver for my daughter, who recently turned 5, but has also been in her care when she was a toddler as well. She is deeply trustworthy, flexible, and kind— consistently reliable and dependable in every interaction. What truly sets Angelina apart is her natural ability to read my daughter’s cues and honor her as an individual human being, always relieving me of any stress as I know she will be safe and cared for to the best quality, and someone my daughter looks forward to seeing, as a bonus to alleviate separation anxiety! She brings positivity and light into every space she enters, immediately putting children at ease and creating a sense of joy and comfort. I give Angelina my highest recommendation without hesitation — she is a rare find and a true gift to any family she works with. — Erin N.

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
