I am a recent NYU graduate who studied acting and filmmaking. I've recently moved from NYC to Sunny LA! I love the outdoors, art, fitness, and finding fun new eats in the city. Growing up in a large family myself, and being the eldest girl, I've always loved taking care of children. During my time in NYC I provided childcare for my professors, as well as families in the Brooklyn area! From playing imaginative games, helping with homework, or exploring the city to find things to make them smile, I would describe myself as an experienced, playful, and kind caregiver. I also had many pets growing up, both dogs and cats, and am very comfortable caring or simply being in their presence.

*I have 15 months' experience as a nanny for a family Los Angeles. It was a positive, loving, respectful, and all-around fun household, and I was lucky to be a part of their family for so long! I cared for a girl and a boy (now aged 2 and 4) from 7am-4pm, Monday-Friday, driving them to and from preschool, took them to the library for story time, walked to the park with the double stroller, baked and cooked with them, worked with them in the vegetable garden, and provided consistency with the family's potty training approach. I also facilitated mealtimes, naptime, and often bathtime and bedtime as well. I adopted the family's conflict resolution strategies as my own, because they work well for everybody involved. (Stopped when I moved.) *In 2016-17, I was a part-time sitter for a 10-/11-year old girl with ADHD (I have ADHD too, so it was easy to empathize with her and practice strategies.) I picked her up from after-care, made dinner, helped with homework, and tried my best to be a positive presence in her life. (Stopped when her family moved.) ~ About me ~ *I am upbeat, curious, and try to practice empathy with all the humans I meet. *I am a Certified Holistic Nutritionist, so I'm happy to support your family in eating well (whatever that means for you—I'm not judgy!), e.g., helping cook/meal prep/etc. (If you'd like personalized nutrition support, we can arrange a separate consultation). *I have 2 rescue dogs and love dog walking, so I'd be happy to care for your pups, too! *I studied Biology and graduated in 2012 (Occidental College, LA, CA), then traveled a lot: walking a 400-mile pilgrimage in Spain, a mission trip to Haiti, and volunteering on organic farms in Japan and the UK. *I spent the summer of 2014 as a tour guide in the southwest US National Parks for French-speaking tourists. *In 2014-15 I was a certified Wilderness First Responder, including Pediatric and Adult CPR/First Aid training. ~ My approach with kids ~ *I like singing songs and lullabies, either the old standards or sometimes improvised lyrics that suit the situation ;) I love Raffi and other silly songs, plus some Disney soundtracks—Mary Poppins, Moana—and whatever else happens to be in my mental jukebox that day. (And though everyone else is sick of "Baby Shark," I still enjoy it!) *Kids and nature are made for each other: I will try and spend as much time outside as possible. *I would also enjoy teaching your children my favorite French nursery songs!

Elaine is a lovely babysitter - caring, gentle, and thoughtful. My daughter had so much fun with her and our dog instantly adored her! We will happily hire her again.

Hi Parents! It’s lovely to meet you! You may notice a bit of a gap in my reviews because I’ve spent the past couple of years working long-term with a family, and throughout my childcare career I’ve also been fortunate to be hired by repeat families and through word of mouth. I’d be happy to provide a reference! I’m now available to connect with new families in LA for both full-time and part-time opportunities. I’m an experienced nanny and childcare provider originally from New York City. I grew up taking care of kids and being around kids all the time because of my very fertile family haha. I knew how to change a diaper since I was 10 years old! I have experience with children of all ages, from newborns through pre-teens, including infants, siblings, and overnight/vacation care. I genuinely enjoy getting to know each child’s personality, interests, and routine. I’m patient, attentive, understanding, and responsible, while also believing that childcare should be fun! I’m happy to get down on the floor and play, explore a museum, help with homework, or come up with something creative to do together. I received my B.S. in Advertising and Marketing Communications from FIT, minoring in English. In my spare time, I enjoy writing poetry, reading, watching films, playing volleyball, working out, being active, and spending time in nature. I’m a big proponent of laughter and imagination, and my working style balances fun with safety. I’m comfortable taking initiative and adapting when plans change. My goal is always to keep children safe, happy, engaged, and comfortable while giving parents peace of mind. Depending on the family’s needs, I can help with: - School and activity pickups - Homework and academic support - Snacks and meals, including cooking - Playtime, parks, museums, and outings - Bath time and bedtime routines - Diapering and infant care - Overnight and vacation care - Tidying and laundry related to the children. Happy to discuss further needs outside of this. I also have experience with assistant work and household management, and I’m happy to discuss your family’s specific needs and how I can help make things run smoothly. I’m Red Cross CPR certified and have First Aid training. Booking note: For bookings ending at or after 9 PM, transportation home will be required.

Kimberley is fantastic, she was able to help us last minute whilst we are visiting LA, and our daughter quickly felt comfortable with her. Would definitely recommend her to other parents.

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
