Chris $15 per hour for 1 child

Hello! Thank you for clicking on my profile. I imagine you’re wondering if I would be a good fit to provide care for your child(ren). I too am wondering. My mom is an elementary school librarian—I would say I got my affinity for working with kids from her. I just moved here from Alaska in February and have 15+ years experience working with toddlers, pre-schoolers and early elementary aged kiddos. I discovered I have a knack for working with preschoolers. I'm really good at it. I've worked with kids in a variety of roles: proving 1:1 support for neurodivergent kiddos and general support for children in a child development center setting, drop-in care for conferences and other events but a majority of my experience has been babysitting and nannying in family’s homes. I value hands-on active child-directed engagement. This means I'm interacting with children at their level, doing what they want to do--within limits of course. This engagement may look like: building tape mazes or obstacle courses, blanket forts or cardboard houses, drawing (kids have reignited my love of drawing), reading stories (my favorite activity by far), building hot wheels tracks or going to the playground! I like being outside and would much rather go play at a park — especially in Minneapolis when the winter weather means we spend so much of winter indoors. I am a Minnesota state licensed PCA and have worked with neurodivergent kiddos including ADD/ADHD, ASD, AuHD, sensory processing disorder and reactive attachment disorder. I am certainly not an expert however am empathetic and take time to know your child as an individual in order to provide the best care for them. Safety note: I have my own transportation, clean driving record, background check, am 110% okay with cameras and value communication about the day’s activities so that parents know what their children are doing. Please reach out if you think we’d be a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you. -Chris

TaNiya $17 per hour for 1 child

I am a 22 year old who recently moved to MN from Alabama. I have always had a passion for working with children. I’ve always been trusted to babysit for any family I know, as well as for my own family. I taught Pre-K last year, and for two years before that I worked with teenagers that struggle with behavioral and developmental challenges. I am CPR certified, as well as trained in professional crisis management. I am well trained to deal with anything that should come my way while babysitting. I have a very kind and warm spirit that most children I’ve worked with tend to get attached to and would love to help out in any way I can.

Jené $20 per hour for 1 child

My name is Jené and I have 10+ years working with children and the elderly. I began working at a direct support specialist with individuals with disabilities. Once I obtain my Bachelors concentrating on Special Education I began teaching. I wanted a more one-on-one approach to education so I began providing ABA therapy and respite for military families. I love kiddos and finding ways to engage their minds from building blocks to scientific experiments. Or we can just run around and be silly!! I also have worked with the elderly in various capacities. Providing them with transportation to appointments, organizing a room or sorting bills as Papa pal to spiritual care as a Hospice Chaplain. I love people and enjoy helping people laugh and be their best self!

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
