Hi! I’m Roxy. I started babysitting almost 15 years ago and have since worked as a nanny/babysitter and in education, from working in classrooms and private tutoring to developing an SEL curriculum for elementary school-aged girls. In this time, I’ve worked with children of all ages and have really enjoyed getting to know the different milestones, interests, and needs that come with each age. I really enjoy getting to know each child and finding ways to keep them engaged while supporting their development. Depending on age, some of my favorite ways to spend time with kids are getting outside, reading together, doing art projects, baking, and finding activities that match their interests. With babies and young toddlers, I especially enjoy paying attention to what they’re learning at each stage and finding fun, age-appropriate ways to support their development, encourage their growing independence and communication skills, and keep them interested and learning as they grow. I believe in helping children develop curiosity, compassion, independence, and social awareness from a young age by giving them space to express themselves and explore the world around them, while also helping them learn to understand and regulate big feelings and navigate relationships with others. I have a bachelor’s degree and speak some Spanish and a little Arabic. I’m also infant and pediatric CPR/first aid certified, comfortable with pets, and have a clean driving record. I’m ideally looking for full-time or near-full-time work with a baby or toddler who isn’t in school yet, but I’m also open to part-time care, nanny shares, and one-time babysitting when my schedule allows.
