Hi! I'm Shterna, and I'm 26 years old. I grew up in central Brooklyn in a big family of 11, with 28 nieces and nephews (ages 0-16) and over 100 first cousins. Being surrounded by kids my whole life, I naturally picked up childcare early on. I started working with kids professionally in middle school as a babysitter and summer camp counselor. After finishing school in 2018, I primarily worked as a nanny (with a brief stint in corporate) and continue to nanny today. I have lots of experience with newborns, multiples, classrooms (of infants, toddlers, and junior high-school) long shifts, overnights and weekends, children who are unwell, and working with two-parent households and transporting kids around the city. I also have experience caring for dogs and cats, hold a driver’s license, and am vaccinated. Outside of work, I’m an avid reader and Boggle player. I love putting on makeup, jump on any opportunity to hear live-music, and enjoy schmoozing with friends. As a religious Jew, my weekend availability can be limited, but I’m happy to work around it when possible. I’m semi-fluent in Hebrew (and Yiddish) and enjoy sharing my culture with anyone interested! I look forward to hearing from you and am happy to answer any questions or provide additional information and references.

Shterna is a confident, dependable caregiver. She has taken the time to understand our infant daughter's personality, moods, developmental stage, and individual needs, adapting her care accordingly. She actively supports our daughter's development through thoughtful interaction and age-appropriate activities. Since she began caring for our daughter, we have noticed her becoming more settled, engaged, and confident. Most importantly, our daughter has developed a strong bond with Shterna and is always happy to see her. We feel confident leaving our daughter in Shterna's care and highly recommend her to any family looking for a kind, reliable, and attentive babysitter.

I've been a childcare provider in New York for 12 years, starting as a daycare employee and later as a long-term babysitter. From 2020 to 2023, I worked as a nanny for a family with a 16-month-old daughter. In 2023, I joined a nanny share and cared for two children aged 6 and 13 months. In 2024, I worked with a couple and their 4-month-old daughter. I also worked with a pre-teen on the autism spectrum part-time. Since May 2025, I've been a nanny for a family with a 23-month-old son, who will start school soon. I'm currently seeking long-term employment. I am passionate about childcare because I love being able to help children learn and grow. Working with children has encouraged me to be more creative and carefree simply by looking at the world from their perspective. The opportunity also gives me a pivotal role in helping to prepare someone for the world and all that is has to offer, which is very rewarding. I speak fluent English and conversational Spanish and minored in Arabic (majored in National Security Studies) at my university for four years. I am certified in CPR and First Aid and am a non-smoker.

Tashaye was punctual, communicative, calm, and able to seamlessly follow our child’s schedule!

Hi families, it’s nice to meet you! My name is Tamyia. I’m currently finishing my last semester for my in Human Services degree. I have 6 years of experience caring for kids of all ages and doing different routine routines for families. One of my favorite parts about babysitting is the relationships I get to build with both the children and their families. I really enjoy being someone families can rely on and helping out wherever I’m needed. I would describe myself as patient, creative, and easy to get along with. I love keeping kids engaged with outdoor activities, board games, and fun educational games. I always try to create a safe and positive environment where kids feel comfortable and supported. I’m currently looking for a part-time position, and I’m also interested in transitioning into a full-time role over the summer where I can build a stronger, long-term connection with a family.

Tamyia is a joy to work with, kind and compassionate

Hello, I'm Xiomara. I absolutely adore working with children. I have experience with babies; toddlers and pre-school age, as well as pre- teens in an academic setting. I am sweet, nurturing and very caring. Parents and teachers I have worked with describe me as warm, very patient, kind, empathetic and enthusiastic. I started working with children, and families, when I was 18 years old. I treat children with love as if they were my own. I am intuitive and attentive to all aspects of a infant needs, from diaper changes to being bottle fed, cuddles, tummy time, nap time to making healthy purées. I also love to read, speak and sing to them throughout the day. With older kids, I promote fun and positivity, safety and encourage a child's natural talent. I can also prepare healthy food, keep kids engaged in play, and read stories while giving voices to each character! I love to arrange play dates, help children meet & make new friends, as well as introduce them to their surroundings, neighborhood & nature. I am active and participate in every activity from arts, music classes, to the playground. There's always an adventure to be had! I love cats and have taken care of them and dogs, if you have pets it's ok with me. I am a native of New York City. I have worn many hats throughout life but I feel working with children is the most meaningful and fulfilling line of work. I hope to meet a family that would like me to be a part of a team to help keep their children safe, happy, loved and learning every day. In my spare time, I am passionate about the healing arts, music, meditation, nutrition, writing, film, photography, dancing, swimming, cycling, & yoga. I am currently looking for opportunities to care for children Part Time or Full time for the right family. Please let me know if you have any questions, I hope to hear from you soon! Best wishes, Xiomara

Xiomara is an exceptional nanny who has been wonderfully caring for our 5-month-old daughter Arianna. Her expertise goes far beyond basic childcare - she brings a thoughtful, creative approach to engaging our baby. Her activities are carefully designed to support Arianna's development, including tummy time, reading, interactive playtime, and introducing musical experiences by playing music and bringing her own musical instruments. What sets Xiomara apart is her perfect balance of being both calm and energetic, adapting her approach to our baby's needs. She is extremely cautious and safety-conscious, carefully monitoring our daughter during activities and outings. She listens attentively to our parental instructions and demonstrates a genuine, holistic care for our baby's health, emotional well-being, and developmental progress. The most heartwarming aspect is how much our baby loves her - Arianna always greets Xiomara with a big, joyful smile, which speaks volumes about the wonderful connection they've developed. We are delighted to have Xiomara as part of our small family and look forward to continuing our wonderful journey together.

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
