Dear Families, I’m Joycelyn, a certified NYS teacher for grades 1–6 and currently teaching 2nd grade. This is my second year teaching in the DOE. In 2023, I earned my Master’s in Teaching and Curriculum in Elementary Education from Columbia Teachers College. I’ve been working with children for over a decade—starting as a babysitter at 13 and later in daycares, preschools, elementary schools, day camps, and after-school programs. Along the way, I’ve gained experience with different teaching approaches, including Montessori and Cooperative Learning, and have also worked with children with special needs such as autism and ADHD. I grew up in Brooklyn and live in Park Slope. Outside of teaching, I enjoy traveling, cooking, arts and crafts, and reading thriller novels. I love sharing these interests with children, whether it’s through creative projects, problem-solving activities, or simply exploring new ideas together. Above all, my passion lies in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where every child can thrive. ____________________ Booking Policies: *I kindly request the full fee for the entire scheduled duration, even if you return earlier. * I kindly request that for same-day cancellations, a fee of 25% of the booking fee be paid. Thank you in advance for your understanding, I look forward to working with your family.

Hello everyone! My name is Marieme and this spring I just graduated from NYU with my master’s in public health. I am fully vaccinated and did receive the booster, so safety first is big on my end! I’ve decided to babysit during times I dont have class so my availability is open and subject to change. I am extremely friendly and I’m definitely a people-person. I am great with kids and I have lots of experience. I am an older sister to two, so I am naturally good at looking after children. Besides my own younger siblings, I’ve babysat professionally for about 5 years now. I love to play games with kids and I am very active and fun to be around. I was CPR certified, however my certification has expired. Luckily, I remember the training, just in case! I can speak English, French, Wolof ( A West-African Dialect), and I am now learning Spanish. I can help with homework, keep kids active/ entertained, and simply watch them attentively. I am fun yet mature and responsible. I hope we can meet soon!

Marieme was wonderful! We needed help in a pinch and her reviews were so good that we gave her a try. She had no sooner walked through the door than my six year old girl pulled her in to making origami with her 😆 & Marieme didn't skip a beat. Easy to recommend. We hope to work with her again soon!

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
