Chantal $35 per hour for 1 child

Hello! My name is Chantal and I am a 51 yr old private caregiver with many years of experience. I have worked with clients with dementia, alzheimers, parkinsons, MS, stroke victims that have caused severe limitations, and the elderly. I started as a volunteer in retirement facilities, and progressed to paid work. I have worked as part of caregiving teams, and as an individual. I also took care of my grandparents, father and aunt, throughout their end of life. I have a passion for caregiving, and strongly believe that everyone deserves to be cared for with respect, compassion and dignity, no matter what stage or age. I have a great sense of humour and approach my work with a light, warm energy and a little bit of "laughter medicine". I have references to attest to my professionalism and care. A little about me personally - I'm originally from Australia, and I moved to Portland with my (now ex) husband in 2011. I am a single parent (divorced in 2017) to 2 kids, aged 20 and 23, and I am trying to help them through college and launch their adult lives. I started this work by volunteering at retirement homes, reading and just trying to be "good company" to those who may not have it often. I am also a certified pilates instructor, and work mainly 1:1 with clients (mostly 65+ - they call me the "old person whisperer" at the studio) helping them gain strength and confidence with functional movement using the pilates system and equipment. I have a wonderful (and neurotic) little boston terrier called Hoagie (like the bread roll) and I enjoy all things textile related (sewing, crochet, embroidery) and food/cooking related. I've lived and traveled all over Asia - Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and China, and a little of Europe - Barcelona, and London. I would love to see more of the world. I am also about to embark on an "End of life Doula" training as I have a particular interest in end of life care.

Kaili $23 per hour for 1 child

Hi Portland families! My name’s Kaili! (kay-lee). I work part time at an audiology clinic and am looking to supplement my employment with childcare, both for the income and the fun + engagement not always found in an office. I have experience with a wide range of ages (infancy - teens) and enjoy coming up with activities for enrichment such as art + craft projects, puzzles, sensory stations, board games, neighborhood walks, and story time. Also nothing wrong with a movie + pizza night sometimes :) I’m most consistently available Tuesdays and Thursdays but will consider all gigs, and can be flexible for ongoing care with the right family. Rates depend on age, activity, number of children etc. Looking forward to hearing from you, Thanks! Kaili

👶 Nurse & Nanny Looking for a Wonderful Family 💛 Hi families! I’m Cemile — originally from Turkey, where I worked 4 years as a nurse in the Intensive Care Department, including time in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU). For the past 2 years here in Portland, I’ve been a full-time nanny caring for a sweet little girl (from 6 months old to now 2.5 years). ✨ I have my own car and a safe driving background, so I’m fully flexible with distance and available to support a loving family during the week. "We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
