Hi! My name is Maddie, I’m a dedicated and experienced childcare provider with over 10 years of professional experience caring for children of all ages. I have basic medical training, including a BLS certification and CNA training, so safety and preparedness are always top priorities. I love supporting kids through hands-on, Montessori-inspired learning, because in my opinion children learn best by doing, exploring, and engaging with the world around them. I enjoy planning fun outings and little adventures, bringing along crafts and creative activities that spark curiosity and imagination. I have a reliable and safe SUV and a clean driving record, and am happy to transport kiddos as needed.I also prepare nutritious, kid friendly meals and when possible have the kids helping with each step. I love all forms of art, I have spent a lot of time drawing, painting, wire wrapping, playing guitar, reading and aerial silks. I grew up in Northern California, and just recently moved to Portland. I love spending time with children, and I very strongly believe in positive reinforcement, helping children to find their passions and artistic expression, as well as attachment based child care, I believe that infants and young children need someone who is emotionally available and attentive to their individual needs.

Starting at the age of 12, I have taken care of all my cousins when they were infants. I have since worked as a caretaker professionally and in my off-time. I have also held a previous position as a camp counselor for a grade school summer camp when I was 15 yrs old. I have exuberant energy and a passion for care. I am comfortable with both comforting and gently disciplining those I care for as needed, as well for kids that are on the spectrum and take pride in making the days of those I work with a little bit better each time. I am comfortable working with a range of ages from youth to seniors, and love pets as well.
