I have hands-on experience working with children through ESS K–12 as a substitute/teachers assistant, mainly with pre-K to elementary students, including children with special needs. I’m used to stepping into different environments, following routines, and supporting kids with different learning and emotional needs. Hi there! My name is Mckenzie and I have a passion for working with kids. I have worked at a summer camp with ages 5-14, an outdoor school with ages 9-10, a family relief nursery with ages 2-5, and I have nannied for 3 different families. I also currently work in behavioral health with adults with severe mental illness. I love doing activities outside when the weather is nice and indoors when its rainy! Starting at the age of 12, I have taken care of all my cousins when they were infants. I have since worked as a caretaker professionally and in my off-time. I have also held a previous position as a camp counselor for a grade school summer camp when I was 15 yrs old. I have exuberant energy and a passion for care. I am comfortable with both comforting and gently disciplining those I care for as needed, as well for kids that are on the spectrum and take pride in making the days of those I work with a little bit better each time.
