I am a Portland native and I worked as a teacher for 4 years. I graduated with my BA from Lewis & Clark College and earned my MAT at the University of Portland. I am currently a volunteer on the board of a nonprofit and am starting up a small online business with an old friend. I enjoy soccer, hiking, singing with my gospel choir, teaching Girl Scouts how to sew, and I’m currently renovating a vintage Airstream. I started baby-sitting as a ten-year-old, and have since worked with children of all ages. Most of my experience is with elementary school age kids, but I love babies and toddlers as well. Mom of four boys, ages infant to 14. Looking for some babies and kiddos to watch during school/work hours. Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5pm in my home. Hi! My name is Hanna. I’m a graduate college student with a degree in English, currently living in Northeast Portland. I come from a big, loving family with four rowdy brothers, so I’m no stranger to energetic households! My childcare experience began in high school, where I spent my junior and senior years nannying a toddler with fetal alcohol syndrome. It was some of the most challenging, yet rewarding, work I’ve ever done. Since then, I’ve cared for children ranging from infants to middle schoolers. At my local church, I’ve volunteered in nursery care, taught classes, and mentored middle school students over the years. I also worked closely with special needs students in high school—participating in P.E. classes, supporting talent shows, and building strong, inclusive friendships. Currently, I work as a substitute teacher and also as a barista at Starbucks, where I love greeting people with a smile and helping make their day a little brighter.
