Once I complete my degree, I would love to have the title, “child and maternal health advocate”! I started working in child care 10 years ago as a lead teacher in a toddler classroom at a daycare. After a few years there, I moved on to becoming a nanny. I’ve been a nanny to two amazing families since 2016. Im thankful to have held long term positions. I have worked in school districts for 10 years plus. Most of it was with special education, children. For the last five years, I’ve taken care of my very sick husband.. He goes to Dialysis three times a week of which I have already put into the hours I can work and he also has short-term memory loss. I have a great deal of patience and empathy for those that are younger and those that may have minor mental and emotional problems. I take very seriously what it is that I do. I do not consider these individuals as lesser people. I especially love children. I have 10 grandchildren, and I taught all of them how to swim.
