I graduated from the University of San Francisco with a major in psychology and several courses on child development. I am CPR certified, and currently work as a case worker for at risk youth in Charlotte. I have worked at the Ronald McDonald house in the UES for children with cancer. I worked at the YMCA at the day care, And also an after school teacher helper for the Richmond district in San Francisco. I was a camp counselor for kinder through first grade. I had about 40 kids in my group and the ratio was always 12:1. I also worked with a program that helped students from low income families reach their grade reading level. I was one on one with about 6 students a day, and I built strong relationships with each and every one of my students. I helped them reach their goal, and gave them the support and resources they needed to do so. I have been a nanny for 10 years and love it!

Hi! My name is Bona. I moved to Philly from Portland and come from a large family so I’m very used to being around children. I have previously worked as an after school teacher, a tutor and nannied for a variety of families from all backgrounds. When babysitting I usually enjoy doing arts and crafts, playing games such as hide and seek or sardines and going on adventures if the weather permits. I enjoy reading, finding new shows and very terribly baking/ trying out new recipes. Looking forward to meeting you!

Down below is my original bio I made when I first started using the app! It’s now many years later as I am currently now 26, but still have that same energy :) I am re-entering the babysitting world as a means to save for my masters and because I miss it, a ton. Watching children made a lot of nights easier in college and brought me so much joy. I’m excited to get back into it and meet families in Raleigh (my new home!). Hi there! My name is Brianna as you may already know. In 2017, I moved to San Francisco from Philadelphia for college. I am a biology major in a Pre-Med track at the University of San Francisco to get me closer to my goal of becoming an anesthesiologist. While growing up in Philly, I had four much older siblings, the closest to me is still 9 years older. I say this because it shows just how it was possible for me to become an aunt by the age of four. Every year or two there has been a new baby added to the family, so I was always the go-to for babysitting when they needed one. I started watching them by myself at the age of 12 because my family knew I was mature enough to. I have watched my six nieces and three nephews countless times for my siblings, their ages ranging from 2 months to 8 years old. Not only did I babysit for my siblings but for their friends and sometimes my neighbors too. I think this just goes to show just how much experience I have with children of all ages. Now, my nieces and nephews would describe me as the "cool" aunt, because I never fail to do something fun with them while I am with them. Things like going to the playground, coloring, playing tons of boardgames, or hide and go seek, etc. Besides that I also have been a tutor in Philadelphia, both at school and on the side. I am always the first my neighbors' or siblings' children come to when homework help is needed. I like to make sure the child understands what I am doing rather than just doing the work for them. So yes, I may be the "cool" aunt, but I do have a serious side when needed. I love babysitting because of exactly this. Not only do I get to teach the children something or become their friend but they also teach me something new all the time. Plus, I am a child at heart so I love doing things like coloring or playing games with them, and I am only 20 meaning I have lots of energy to chase them around. There is a little bit about me and my background; I hope you enjoyed and now think your child will definitely be in good hands with me!

I enjoy interacting and nurturing children’s growth and development because they are filled with curiosity, joy, wonder, love, and appreciation for learning from their trusted caregivers about the world. I am filled with gratitude for the 60+ children I built relationships with at Ellis Early Learning and I learned that I do love caring for children and supporting their growth. I am amazed at children’s brilliance and how I can support their physical and emotional development with each day. When caring for and teaching children, I am reminded of these powerful quotes on education and teaching that I carried with me in my interactions with the children: (1) Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world - Nelson Mandela. (2) The teacher is of course an artist, but being an artist does not mean that he or she can make the profile, can shape the students. What the educator does in teaching is to make it possible for the students to become themselves. - Paulo Freire On a formal note, I most recently received my teacher certification from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care for preschool and infants/toddlers along with other certifications: First Aid/CPR, Trauma and Resilience for Early Childhood Educators, and Early Childhood and Care Essentials. I worked in an Early Childhood Education apprenticeship in Boston, where I was placed at Ellis Early Learning for 8 months and I aced Child Growth and Development at Urban College of Boston. Overall, I am excited to meet with you and learn how I can support the needs of your growing family in a babysitting capacity.
