I come from a big, loving family with four rowdy brothers, so I’m no stranger to energetic households! My childcare experience began in high school, where I spent my junior and senior years nannying a toddler with fetal alcohol syndrome. It was some of the most challenging, yet rewarding, work I’ve ever done. Since then, I’ve cared for children ranging from infants to middle schoolers. At my local church, I’ve volunteered in nursery care, taught classes, and mentored middle school students over the years. I also worked closely with special needs students in high school—participating in P.E. classes, supporting talent shows, and building strong, inclusive friendships. Currently, I work as a substitute teacher and also as a barista at Starbucks, where I love greeting people with a smile and helping make their day a little brighter. As a mom myself, I know how important it is to create a safe, nurturing environment. I’m available for babysitting during the summertime and on weekends. I have two years of experience supporting children’s growth, safety, and daily routines, including working with children with special needs. I have also volunteered as a camp leader, supervising a group of five children, organizing engaging activities, and managing daily schedules from morning wake-ups to bedtime. In addition, I am a certified medical assistant with current BLS certification, as well as adult and pediatric CPR and First Aid training. Hello my name is Ilyssa, I have 6 years of experience working in education, ranging between preschool through high school age groups. The youngest being a 6 week old infant and oldest being 20. I currently work as an RBT at a transitional school for autistic individuals who exhibit aggressive behaviors. I am trained to teach with ABA techniques and am also CPI certified to deescalate emergency situations. I am CPR and AED certified for infants and children as well as adults. Hello, I’m Ivory! I am an independent college student, I just graduated 2025 at PSU with a bachelor of fine arts! I have taken 4 years of Spanish and would be happy to share basic Spanish vocabulary! I love drawing, painting, ceramics, and am working 7 years so far as a part time ice cream cake decorator. In my free time I enjoy singing, working out, and playing games with friends! I have experience babysitting my 3 nephews, and working with kids at church. I babysat for a girl 5 y/o girl until she was 7 y/o in the mornings getting ready for school with the occasional pickup from school. . I occasionally babysit a nonverbal 4y/o boy with autism since he was 1 year old. I’ve currently been babysitting a 3 year old girl on Saturdays for the last year! I have an AMI primary diploma from Montessori Northwest (2004) and worked in the Montessori community as a teacher, assistant and head of school as well as curriculum advisor. I completed a 17 hour course on infants in childcare from Care Courses in 2017. I provided infant care in my home in 2017, 18, and 23. I have a great respect for and interest in human development and believe in supporting foundations for developing emotional intelligence. I care about peaceful, respectful interactions with all people, but especially the very young. I raised two fabulous children and have been married for 36 years. I am a good cook and homemaker.
