Hi! I'm Simone, and I'm excited to get back to working directly with families after a few years doing operations work in creative settings and at a nonprofit teaching STEM to kids in Portland. (Turns out I missed the hands on part!) I've got over a decade of experience with kids of all ages: nannying long term and watching kids grow from pre K through second grade, four years at the Children's Creativity Museum in San Francisco, volunteering with children's library programming doing summer reading and fairs, substitute teaching at an outdoor preschool, and before that, helping out in a daycare. I love getting to know kids as individuals and figuring out what makes each person tick. I've worked with neurodivergent kids regularly and genuinely enjoy finding the best way to connect. I've also done a lot of date night sitting, so I'm totally comfortable stepping in with kids I don't know as well yet and making sure they have a great night while you get out and actually have fun. From school pickups, to swim lessons or Bob Ross painting parties, I've done it all, and I'm excited to find exactly what makes each kid light up and have the most fun. I studied Art History at Academy of Art, and I bring that into how I work with kids: thinking about creativity, play, and discovery as the best approach! Hello, my name is Jade and I work as a consulting environmental scientist in Portland, Oregon. I grew up in Seattle and have worked as a babysitter in Seattle and The Bay Area. I have been caring for children on and off since I was a teenager, worked as a nanny and lifeguard through college, then later as an environmental educator and volunteer coordinator, and have maintained CPR/First Aid certification.
