Hi! I'm Simone, and I'm excited to get back to working directly with families after a few years doing operations work in creative settings and at a nonprofit teaching STEM to kids in Portland. (Turns out I missed the hands on part!) I've got over a decade of experience with kids of all ages: nannying long term and watching kids grow from pre K through second grade, four years at the Children's Creativity Museum in San Francisco, volunteering with children's library programming doing summer reading and fairs, substitute teaching at an outdoor preschool, and before that, helping out in a daycare. I love getting to know kids as individuals and figuring out what makes each person tick. I've worked with neurodivergent kids regularly and genuinely enjoy finding the best way to connect. I've also done a lot of date night sitting, so I'm totally comfortable stepping in with kids I don't know as well yet and making sure they have a great night while you get out and actually have fun. From school pickups, to swim lessons or Bob Ross painting parties, I've done it all, and I'm excited to find exactly what makes each kid light up and have the most fun. I studied Art History at Academy of Art, and I bring that into how I work with kids: thinking about creativity, play, and discovery as the best approach! I love talking about music, being outside, making things, or just improvising something fun on the spot. I really enjoy working hands on with all children and would love to be your sitter! I look forward to hearing from you, and wish you the best of luck in finding someone who is the right fit for your home.
“Simone was great with my 7 month old and was able to learn his needs quickly!”
I'm a 34 year old professional nanny who truly loves working with kids. I have 13 years of childcare experience, both as a full-time nanny, babysitter and as an assistant preschool teacher. I worked for two years in the Toddlers class at a French immersion preschool where I completed some coursework in early childhood development. I also have a degree in French and would be happy to speak it with your child(ren) if that interests you! I currently nanny full-time, however I like to make myself available to families looking for someone they can trust with date nights and other occasional care when I have openings in my schedule.
“Angelina is wonderful! She was communicative, professional, and confidently took great care of our 4 month old! ”
Hello, my name is Caroline. I’m offering child care, senior care and household services. I love taking care of children and seniors. I have been taking care of children since I was 16 years old. My responsibilities included bringing them home from/to school, crafts, tutoring, and all personal care of child. I have taken care of my grandma and my grandpa, so I feel comfortable with senior care. I can do any chores and enjoy cooking, as well.
I am a Portland State graduate with a Master’s degree in Social Work. I have 10+ years of experience being a professional nanny, during which I have worked for a diverse mix of families with kids ranging from ages infant-12 years old. I am a thoughtful and patient person who is passionate about taking care of kids. In my free time I enjoy sports and outdoor activities as well as art, reading and other indoor activities. Babysitting is something I really enjoy because kids find so much joy in the littlest of treasures and it's rewarding helping and seeing how much kids grow when you provide care for them. I look forward to hearing from you!
Hello! I'm Bec and I am a graduate of Northwestern University. I grew up in Seattle and returned to the PNW to get my MFA in creative writing; I now teach college English classes. I spent my years at Northwestern teaching drama classes in the Chicagoland area and working with Seesaw Theatre, an arts advocacy group that creates one-on-one sensory immersive theatre for kids with autism and other developmental disabilities (I then worked with a similar group in NYC for three years). I nannied for a crew of elementary schoolers, and eventually a toddler sibling as well, for four years. Between teaching drama classes, babysitting, nannying, teaching swim lessons, and working at a childcare center in high school, I have worked with kiddos from three months old to eighteen years old! In my free time I write, read, and make theatre.

"UrbanSitter is my go-to for quality sitters! I can book weeks ahead of time or easily find a same-day sitter when in a bind. I even hired a part-time nanny during a daycare transition. Customer service is helpful and babysitters respond in a timely manner."
