Mika 1 review
San Francisco
$48 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 1 family in San Francisco, CA

Hi all! I’m Mika, a 28-year-old SF native with over 10 years of professional childcare experience. What started as regular babysitting in my teens evolved into a well-rounded career in childcare - including teaching swim, working at preschools, managing summer camps with 25+ kids, and full-time nannying. I have experience with every stage from newborn to preteen, as well as neurodivergent and physically disabled children - i’m prepared and excited for any situation! I'm truly passionate about fostering healthy development in a fun, loving environment. I view my role as working with families to create a cohesive team, for the best possible care. I’m flexible, punctual, a clear communicator, creative (I attended arts school for 9 years!), and worldly (dual US/Swedish citizen). Most importantly, I bring a warm, caring energy to everything I do and would love the chance to meet you and your little one(s)!

We hit the jackpot with Mika. Our first interaction was a last minute babysitting gig that turned into over two years of working together. Us moving and no longer being able to work with Mika will greatly impact our family. Communication is incredibly important to any parent who doesn’t get to see what is going on throughout the day. In my case, I was this parent while my husband worked from home. Although my husband was in the next room, both of us were continually looped into the day with updates, photos and shared location which were all her idea. Mika’s energy & ability to stay engaged seems boundless. Whether it’s the various activities she dreams up, facilitating socialization with other children, learning new words, or working with puzzles, she has her entire focus and attention on the moment. Her being a native to San Francisco has helped with exploring spaces that we had never thought to visit. It would be easy to tailor a child’s day to just neighborhood playground visits but our sons day is filled with so much more. Any family would be incredibly lucky to work with Mika.

Hello - My name is Alex. I am offering childcare, household and pet sitting services. I love being a babysitter and enjoy working with children. I have been watching infants, toddlers, and kids 3+ since I was 16 years old. My most recent experience includes working at an infant daycare with children ages 0-2 here in San Francisco. Maria San Francisco
$30 per hour for 1 child

I'm not a housekeeping or house cleaning and don't do homework to the older children. However I am only a babysitter where I only watch the children to be safe at their house or outdoor.I don't cook food for infants through older children because I don't want to handle food allergies, other diseases and other types of allergies and I want to protect myself. I don't have experience preparing infant's meals and milk bottle so I prefer the parent prepare their baby meals and milk bottle for me so I can warm their meals and milk bottle, than the same thing with the older children. Because the older children are very picky on their foods when I cook for them. Is that why I prefer the parents prepare their children meals because the parents knows their children what they likes to eat for meals, than I can warm up their foods I can ask them if they wants me to feed them or not. I know how to cook in my own way as a Latina foods style not American style or Japanese style, or Chinese style or other culture etc. I have been working for Urbansitter for 4 or 5 years but I have been working in my own babysitter without Urbansitter for 6 or 7 years that including my experience as a teacher where I used to worked for Montessori and private preschool and Bright Horizons for 31 years plus extra years with Urbansitter. I am very friendly, flexible and open mind person and communicate with the parents on how their children are doing with me when I am babysitting at their house in the morning pr afternoon or at night. I love to keep the parents clean when their children makes a big mess with their toys or when they done with their food dishes I don't give a bath to infant but I can dress up the infant's clothes, play with them, sing a song and read a book then for the older children I play with their toys or play their game Candy Land or Unos games or play basketball etc. Sometime I give a bath to toddler only not older children or not bath infants but I will tell the older children to take a bath and brush their teeth observes them in the bathroom in the morning or afternoon or at night. I am from Central America Nicaragua and speak Spanish and English very well. In the other handle I don't give a bath on dogs and cats. I love birds, dogs, cats, snake, bugs, spider not rat or mouse.I can feed your animals if the parents want me to do it. I can only do folding the infants, toddler and older children. I am on time on my job, I don't have a car but I take a bus. I love infants

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
