My name is Liz, I’m 33 years old, and originally from Brazil. I’ve been working with children for over ten years in a variety of roles that include nannying, family assistance, and cook support. I’m passionate about creating structure while also keeping things fun, organized, and nurturing for the children and families I work with. Previously, I was a family assistant/nanny/cook for a family with two school-aged girls. My mornings started early, getting the girls ready for school by prepping lunch boxes, encouraging them to make their beds and tidy their rooms, hairstyles, and handling school drop-offs. I was also responsible for the weekly grocery shopping and collaborate with the mom on meal planning to ensure the family’s routine and nutrition needs were met. I handled all the cooking and meal prep and also took on various home projects such as organizing rooms, closets, and redesigning garage storage systems. When the kids were home, I focused on engaging them with activities like crafts, cooking together, outdoor adventures, playground trips, and museum outings. Before this, I was working in a nanny share with a 21-month-old boy and a 22-month-old girl. I had been with the girl since she was 3 months old, and we started the share when the children were 6 and 7 months old. I have hands-on experience with Montessori practices, sleep training, introducing solids, and supporting motor skill development. In a previous role, I worked as a nanny/family assistant for two incredible girls, ages 7 and 10. My responsibilities included school pickups and drop-offs, homework help, coordinating their daily routines, managing their laundry and belongings, and planning fun and enriching activities like hiking, biking, and arts and crafts. As a family assistant, I supported the household by organizing the family calendar, running errands, grocery shopping, helping with meal planning and prep, and generally making sure the household ran smoothly.

We had a wonderful experience with Liz. She watched our two daughters for an evening and was punctual, friendly, and immediately put both the kids (and us!) at ease. She was engaging, responsible, and handled dinner, bedtime, and everything in between with confidence and warmth. We would absolutely hire her again and highly recommend her to other families looking for a reliable and caring sitter.

Hello Parents! *Available for weekend and occasional care in the 2025-26 school year.* My name is Laurel. I really enjoy being a nanny and babysitting. I am very engaging with children and we have tons of fun together. This past year I have been a nanny for an adorable three year old girl in Park Slope. I will be continuing with them in the fall. I will have availability for weekend and occasional care during the upcoming 2025-26 school year. I have experience with a range of ages from toddlers to preteens. I’ve got a great sense of humor and can be playful. I truly enjoy reading stories to kids. My current favorites are the Frog and Toad books. I can help your older child with homework too. I’m very patient, kind, creative and reliable. I have experience with neurodivergent kids, including ADHD and those on the autism spectrum. As a native New Yorker I’m familiar with the public parks, playgrounds, libraries and kid friendly museums. I’m comfortable taking kids on the bus or subway. I’m LGBTQIA+ friendly, CPR/First Aid Certified and Youth Mental Health First Aid trained. I’m a non smoker and Covid vaccinated and boosted. I recently had a MMR booster as well. I’m comfortable around pets and enjoy their company. Reach out if you think I might be a good fit for your family. I’d be happy to talk with you on a video call about your childcare needs.

Laurel has been a transformative presence in our children's lives. She began nannying for our family when our now-three y/o entered preschool at two years, nine-months. Laurel has been an outstanding caregiver, helping to guide our three-year-old through significant developmental steps, including but not limited to school day routines (drop-off and pick-up), getting dressed by oneself, potty-training, consistent napping, and the range of big feelings common to preschool-aged children. Laurel is steady, calm, and direct with the children; she affirms their individual agency while setting clear boundaries and expectations for safe and caring behavior. She helps them work towards goals at their own pace and enables their self-sufficiency while also providing lots of thoughtful support. Our other child is eleven years old and Laurel offers age-appropriate space to foster independence in this older sibling. She is creative in the games that she plays with both children and always gets our younger one into the park for some outdoor exploration, rain or shine. In our dealings, she is punctual, unflaggingly reliable, and professional. We cannot recommend Laurel enough!

Zina was able to come on very short notice when I really needed some help, which was very appreciated. She was great, very proactive and able to relate to our kids very quickly. She came up with some great games for our fairly active boys and they had a good time with her. I would recommend her to anyone and we will definitely hire her again.

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
