Hi, my name is Ryann! At this time, I am only looking for occasional jobs as I cannot commit to a regularly scheduled babysitting job. I have a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in criminal justice studies from San Francisco State University, and I am planning to go back to school to obtain a master's degree sometime in the next few years. I am up-to-date on all my vaccinations and boosters (including COVID-19), and I am trained in CPR/AED/First Aid, however my certification has lapsed. While in college, I took three courses specifically related to child and adolescent psychology and development. I began babysitting when I was 12 years old, and have worked with children of various ages over the years (newborns to preteens) as a babysitter, nanny, and volunteer camp counselor. When weather permits, I like to take the kids outside, for walks or to play at the park. However, I am just as happy staying inside, playing games, doing arts and crafts, or reading to the kids. I can also speak conversational Spanish. In my spare time, I like to read, bake, and make jewelry. Regarding COVID-19: I am happy to provide proof of full vaccination, including booster shots. I ask that all household members of families that I work with receive the vaccine and boosters when possible, unless medically unable. I expect mutual transparency; I cannot babysit when someone in the household is sick and/or has been exposed to COVID-19 and expect to be told as soon as possible so that the job can be canceled. Likewise, I will inform all families if I or someone in my household is sick and/or has been exposed to COVID-19 and will cancel the job with as much notice as possible. I will wear a mask while babysitting if preferred, just let me know! *Please note, for liability reasons, I will not drive children in my personal vehicle; however, I am willing to drive children in a parent or guardian’s vehicle, provided that their insurance policy covers me. Similarly, I am also willing to transport children via public transportation, taxi, or Uber/Lyft.*

WHO I AM: I am a college graduate who works part time in hospitality while living in Los Angeles, CA. I am 32 years old. I have applied my love for childcare for 12 years here on UrbanSitter, in addition to having been employed as a regular substitute teacher at a preschool in Burbank. I love to play and be active in my own life - getting fresh air, taking walks, and going to the beach are personal favorites. But I also appreciate that children can enjoy the comfort of staying inside to play imaginatively, read books, or build and break down and rebuild their Legos over and over again. I'm an animal lover as well with pets of my own and will be happy to attend to any of your pets. MY EXPERIENCE: Working at a children's summer camp program at Sonoma State University called EXCEL, I was an Assistant Teacher for a Stage Combat class for kids ages 9-14, so I can take rough-housers and encourage them to expel energy in a safe way. I was also an Assistant Teacher for a Theatre Improv class for kids ages 6-12, for those who love to be silly, imaginative, and in the spotlight. Since joining UrbanSitter in 2013, I have experienced vomit, accidents/bed-wetting, tantrums, night terrors, and anxiety attacks while caring for children ages 12 weeks to 12 years old, and all of these challenges were overcome with care and efficiency. I have built long-term relationships with families as their primary and regular caregiver that span over several years. But most importantly, I have had the joy of experiencing hours of genuine smiles, laughter, and growth; for this reason, I look forward to every booking. MY PHILOSOPHY: Something that I respect very highly in children is individuality. I don't believe that kids can all be categorized as “just kids” - each is very different, with unique interests, values, boundaries, and comfort zones. As your family's caregiver, my commitment is to adapt to your child's individual comfort zone and personality right from the jump, and combine that with your guidelines and goals as a parent to build a personalized childcare experience. All in all, I am happy to spend time with any child I meet - a kid's aura of acceptance and openness inspires me to give it back to them in care, support, and friendship. I hope to hear from you soon.

Hi Parents! I am a college grad from San Francisco State. My major is Liberal Studies with an emphasis on Elementary teaching. I moved to NYC from San Francisco 2 years ago and work full-time remote position. I always have a great time around kids and love being around them, whether it's chillin' out watching cartoons or going to the playground, and preparing food for them...even with them! How I got involved childcare: I have one younger sibling who is ten years younger, so I grew up taking care of him and helping out mom. As the years passed, my younger brother made friends on the block and I became the neighborhood babysitter. What I Expect From Parents: - If a parent cancellation occurs within 24 hours, I expect to be compensated for the full amount of the job. - To inform me of any illness of the child before job start. - To inform me if a parent will be home for the duration of the job before job start. - If any duties aside from caring for the child are expected (dishes, laundry, plant watering, feeding pets, etc.) The UrbanSitter app has given me tons of experience with children of all ages and behaviors. I've utilized this app for about 4 years, with approximately 70 repeat families and 200+ gigs in total. I'm also an alum member of Alpha Gamma Delta at SF State and a lot of my "sisters: are also on this site. I consider myself a clean freak and always try to make time to tidy up the house I am sitting. I love spending my free time at parks or by the sea. - Excited to meet you and your children! :)

I get to teach and supervise a group of awesome first graders every day, and it’s truly the highlight of my week. Spending time with kids comes naturally. Honestly, I learn so much about myself as an adult-But beyond that, kids remind me that it's the little things that matter, and I also get to see so many different types of personalities in babies!!!. It's certain moments that with them that completely take my mind off the stresses of school and my other job. I've been babysitting since I was 11 years old, I'm the oldest of over 60 kids in my huge Mexican family, so I've been babysitting for a LONG time! I started professionally babysitting when I turned 18, so I've gained experience working with different families. On the side I am a Behavior Technician. I have experience working with kids with autism starting at the age of 1. We work on communication and speech skills together in school and home settings while running programs targeted for their needs! I'm majoring in Criminal Justice and I'm working towards a career where I can help young women/minors who are going through trauma and legal issues. My dream is to make a difference in their lives in a hands-on way, and as someone who can guide and empower them to create positive change. I believe my experiences as a sitter, and my deep empathy for kids, will play a big part in that future.
