How I got involved childcare: I have one younger sibling who is ten years younger, so I grew up taking care of him and helping out mom. As the years passed, my younger brother made friends on the block and I became the neighborhood babysitter. What I Expect From Parents: - If a parent cancellation occurs within 24 hours, I expect to be compensated for the full amount of the job. - To inform me of any illness of the child before job start. - To inform me if a parent will be home for the duration of the job before job start. - If any duties aside from caring for the child are expected (dishes, laundry, plant watering, feeding pets, etc.) The UrbanSitter app has given me tons of experience with children of all ages and behaviors. I've utilized this app for about 4 years, with approximately 70 repeat families and 200+ gigs in total. I started by watching my younger siblings and cousins, then kids in my neighborhood. I also volunteered as a teacher’s aide during my junior and senior year in high school. Afterwards I joined urbansitter when I started college and have been with them since then. An example of some of the things I like to do with kids are taking them outside to either the park or just the backyard to get away from the screen, if the weather permits, but if not, I keep them occupied at home with arts and crafts, reading, board games, etc. I would be a great date-night, part-time and/or weekend sitter. Minimum hours: 3 hours Cancellation policy: If possible if a parent needs to cancel a job please let me know 24 hours in advance. If the booking in cancelled in less than 12 hours I do expect to be paid 50% of the agreed hours.
