I am new to baby sitting for others but growing up my mother was working a lot so I took on the responsibility of taking care of my 2 younger sisters that are 5-7 years younger than me. I also would always babysit for my aunts and uncles and my cousins were infants, toddlers and 4+ years old. I have babysat for years so I’m very familiar with taking care of children and it’s something that I enjoy and love to do. I can also clean, cook, and do basically any household chores as well!

I graduated from Lewis & Clark College in 2012 with a degree in Rhetoric & Media Studies and a minor in Art/Art History. I have worked with children in many capacities throughout the years. Starting when I was 15 as a sitter to two toddlers, I have worn many hats since then. From swim instructor to recess coach, to 2nd grade teacher to Montessori PE teacher, I love finding joy and celebrating it! Currently I work as Assistant Dean of Admission at Reed College, but I will be leaving my job soon to begin school at PSU for a Masters in Sustainability Education. Hi, my name is Jessica and I'm a stay at home mom to a three year old boy. My son will be tagging along unless otherwise stated. Please inform me if your child is sick. I keep my Urbansitter calendar accurate, so that's the best way to know my availability. I like taking the kids to the park for hours, playing outside, playing board games and reading to them. I am a semi-retired licensed Registered Nurse with five grown children and four grandchildren. I have worked as a nanny full time, part time, and night nurse. I have done occasional work for families for nights out, special events, and sick children who cannot attend regular childcare. I have also covered babysitting services for a conference in the past. My experience includes all ages, multiple children, diabetics, and neurodivergent children. I’ve been babysitting since I was a teenager. I love children and animals and I spend my childcare time reading, playing, dancing, exercising, walking, and doing crafts. Our days are very busy and interactive. I try to make basic daily tasks fun to keep the children engaged and willing to do things like hand washing and clean up. I am patient, kind, and loving. I have my own vehicle and a clean driving record if transportation should be necessary. Pets are not a problem. I will happily feed, water, walk, brush, play with and/or check-in on your animals. I am fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID (and a bunch of other stuff). I am clean and keep hand sanitizer with me. I am also certified in Basic, Advanced, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. I am open to light housekeeping duties, and I don't mind meal prep or cooking. Most people enjoy my cooking and I am health conscious and creative, but certainly respect that some children may have limited food preferences and/or allergies and I am willing to work within those limitations. I strive to provide a positive experience that is fun, safe, and comfortable, and allows you to feel secure in your choice, knowing your precious child or children are in good hands.
