I am a substitute elementary teacher with West St Paul/Mendota Public Schools. I'm licensed to teach K-6th grade, but often work with younger children also. I have worked as a teacher for over ten years. Kindergarten is my favorite, but I think there is something great about kids of every age. I would be very open helping school-aged children with their homework or doing supplemental educational work with the kids. I can also hang out and have fun -- either inside or out. Whatever works best for you! I love cats and wouldn't mind a house with them. I am okay with dogs as well, to a lesser extent. I have my own transportation and am willing to drive the kiddos to appointments, sports, playdates, etc. I don't mind light housekeeping/cooking, especially for the kids. I have four years experience working in youth mental health, in school programs, clinical settings, and after-school services. I can handle just about any situation that may arise- I am Adult and Pediatric CPR certified, received EMT-B training in 2015, and have worked professionally with youth aged 8-20. I work with kids because I truly love it- the joy, curiosity, and growth of spending time with children and adolescents is like no other. I am pursuing a Master's degree in Marriage & Family Therapy at Saint Mary's- towards a goal of licensed, trauma-informed therapy with youth and their families. I have also been babysitting and nannying on-and-off for 15 years, for families with children aged 0-12. I have three younger siblings and certainly got plenty of formative experience there, strengthened by working for neighbors and family friends over the years.
